The Medicash Foundation, the charitable arm of the UK’s largest provider of corporate cash plans has released its half-year report of all donations and beneficiaries across the UK throughout 2024 so far.

The charity’s mid-year figures have revealed that in just the first six months of the year, almost 30,000 people across the North West and wider UK have benefited from Medicash Foundation funding. With more than £172,000 donated to charities and projects, Medicash are proud to contribute toward supporting health & wellbeing, disabilities, healthcare facilities, and homelessness projects across the nation.

Among the beneficiaries of the Foundation’s donations this year are the Liverpool Six Community Association’s Together We Are Stronger Project, providing both vital living essentials and practical financial wellbeing support for families living in severe deprivation and hardship throughout the Merseyside region. Also receiving funding from the Medicash Foundation was Beep Doctors, who provide voluntary emergency medical services and equipment to hard-to-reach communities across Cumbria.

The Foundation are proud to support disability and long-term health condition charities including Deafblind UK, Shift.ms, The Brain Charity, and Action Medical Research. What’s more, in addition to Medicash’s ongoing project to fund new nursing positions around the North West – starting last year in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – the Foundation has also provided invaluable funding to specialist medical facilities including Bolton Hospice.

Medicash Foundation Trustee and Chief Executive of Medicash, Sue Weir, said of the company’s mid-year figures: “Enabling better access to healthcare and wellbeing support is central to everything we do here at Medicash, so I couldn’t be prouder that we’re able to pass on our success to such a variety of initiatives across the country.”
