The Medicash Charitable Trust has pledged to support local charity KIND for the next ten years by donating cash to fund food hampers designed to help struggling families have a happier and less stressful time over the festive season.
KIND’s 2015 Christmas Hamper Appeal will involve working with 40 community organisations to help thousands of disadvantaged children and families who will receive the hampers and toy parcels.
Medicash’s donation of £3000 will fund 50 large family hampers this year. The organisation has also signed up to KIND’S newly launched Investor Programme which means KIND will benefit from annual funding over the next ten years.
KIND Chief Executive, Stephen Yip said: “Medicash has given the appeal a huge boost with this generous donation which will make a big difference to families across the region. To those that receive them, perhaps as important as the material gift is the knowledge that others in the community do care at this special time of year.
“We are very grateful to Medicash and very much hope that other organisations will follow Medicash’s example and support the 2015 Hamper Appeal and Investor Programme so we can help as many families as possible have a brighter Christmas.”
KIND is a Liverpool-based children’s charity which has been helping improve the lives of families and young people living in poverty for over 40 years. The organisation provides educational programmes and practical support throughout the year and is widely recognised as vital asset to local communities.
Medicash Chief Executive, Sue Weir said: “We are delighted to be supporting KIND. The organisation does invaluable work and we are pleased that our donation will help families who really are in need this Christmas. The Investor programme is a way of allowing KIND to deliver sustainable activity over the next decade and together we are urging the business community to come on board and back this important initiative so as many families as possible can benefit.”
